TL;DR
Most of your BlastBet profile is self-serve in Account, then Profile: phone number, email, display name, language, currency, and marketing preferences can all be changed any time. First and last name are editable only before KYC — once verified, they must match your ID and need support to change. Currency is a display setting, not a balance conversion.
What you can self-update
| Field | When editable | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| First name / Last name | Before KYC only | Locked once KYC verified — must match ID |
| Phone number | Any time | Required for Interac deposits; re-verification may apply |
| Any time | New email gets a confirmation link before the change applies | |
| Display name / handle | Any time | What other players see |
| Preferred language | Any time | Affects the BlastBet interface |
| Preferred currency | Any time | Display only — does not convert your balance |
| Marketing preferences | Any time | Opt in or out per channel (email, SMS, push) |
What needs support
A small number of changes go through the support team because they have regulatory or identity impact:
- Changing your name after KYC verification — bring a new government ID matching the new name, plus a marriage certificate or legal name-change document if the change is legal in nature.
- Changing your date of birth — only for genuine mistyped entries at signup. Provide your ID for the correction.
- Linking Google OAuth to an existing email account — accounts cannot be merged automatically; support can sort this manually.
How to update each field
- Sign in to BlastBet.
- Open Account, then Profile.
- Click the field you want to change, enter the new value, and save.
- For email: open the confirmation link sent to the new address. The change only applies once you click it.
- For phone: enter the new number. If Interac deposits will use this number, you will be asked to complete a short verification before the next payment.
For fields that need support, use the chat widget or the contact form with your account email and any supporting documents attached.
Does updating trigger a new KYC review?
Mostly no. Updating your phone, email, display name, language, currency, or marketing preferences does not re-trigger KYC. The only changes that touch verification are legal name and date of birth, both of which already go through support and are reviewed manually.
Things to watch for
- KYC-verified fields are locked. Once your name has been verified against an ID, you cannot edit it yourself.
- Changing your email also changes your login email. This only matters if you sign in with email and password — Google sign-in accounts use your Google profile.
- Currency is display only. Switching from USD to CAD does not convert your balance. Existing funds keep the currency they were credited in.
- Phone changes can affect Interac. If you use Interac, expect a short re-verification on the next deposit when the registered number changes.
- Marketing opt-outs are per channel. Turning off email does not turn off SMS, and vice versa — adjust each one if you want full silence.
